This biscayne 7-piece outdoor dining set includes oval table and six arm chairs. The biscayne dining set is a cost-effective alternative to cast iron, this cast aluminum outdoor dining collection gives you the beauty of ornately designed pieces without the high cost. Constructed of cast aluminum in a UV resistant, powder coated, hand applied black-antique finish. The oval dining table features a rubbed black finish with a top that is designed specifically to prevent damage caused from pooling by allowing water to pass through freely. Adjustable, nylon glides prevent damage to surfaces caused by movement and provide stability on uneven surfaces. This swivel arm chair is constructed of cast aluminum with a rubbed black finish. Features include hand antiqued powder coat finish sealed with a clear coat to protect finish, and nylon glides on all legs. Table measures 42-inch width by 72-inch depth by 28-1/2-inch height. Chair measures 24-2/5-inch width by 22-inch depth by 33-1/2-inch height, seat height measures 16-inch.

I admit that I am rather picky about my patio furniture, but if I'm spending $1000, I think I deserve to be picky. Top things on my wish list for patio furniture were: 1) it had to be aluminum. No more repainting rusting furniture! I'm getting too old for that chore every year and it never lasts. 2) the chairs had to be able to be used with or without cushions. I have had cushions on chairs before and they get damp and moldy if you leave them outside, especially here in the mountains.I first ordered a Garden Oasis Oxford 7-pc. dining set from Sears that came with cushions. The seats were comfortable, but if you removed the cushions, well, you couldn't sit in the chair without them. The chair seat had only 4 flat bars going across and looked utilitarian at best when the cushion was removed. I should have known that using the cushions was mandatory because there were no photos of that set without cushions. Live and learn. That set got returned.Then I ordered the Biscayne 7-pc. patio set. Well, I liked the look of the Biscayne set better but I really liked the fact that I wouldn't NEED cushions if I didn't want to use them. The Biscayne set had more assembly to do than the Garden Oasis Oxford set, but I managed to put everything together myself (it would have been much easier with 2 people). There were several casting "burrs" that had to be removed, but the biggest negative so far is the comfort of the chairs themselves. The seat looks great without cushions and is fairly comfortable, but the chair back is angled a bit too much for me, and after about 45 minutes to an hour, I get a backache. I tried a seat cushion and it helps, but I want to be able to sit WITHOUT a cushion, so I am stuck. I guess I'll be using cushions in order to sit at the table during dinner parties. At least it will look good with and without cushions, and I can tolerate sitting for a short time without them.

It is a really beautiful set; looks great on the patio.The reason for ywo stars is: we will have to add cushions because the backrest hits my wife's back in the wrong spot; the powder coat flaked off on the underside in two places; I have scratched myself on burrs that are on some of the edges; the umbrella hole was too small and not round; and the hole had to be ground out and enlarged to fit our wood pole umbrella. It took a week beyond the estimated delivery date to get our set.

Very well built. Easy to assemble; in fact, I am a small female and was able to assemble all pieces without any help.
